The Versatile iPod Touch 5th Generation

By Howard Berenbon

We were recently on a Caribbean cruise on the NCL Epic (Dec 1 through 28), our 2nd cruise with Norwegian, and it was quite a success.  The food was exceptional, the entertainment was good which included the spooky Blue Man Group offering some unusual audio and visual entertainment in a wacky presentation (like climbing up the theater seats row by row to confront the occupants). To document my trip I carried an Apple iPod Touch 5th generation (with ios 7) and a Sony Cyber Shot Camera.  I mainly used the iPod Touch because I carried it in my shirt pocket, and it was easy to grab and shoot. I mainly shot photos, but added a video or two with both devices.  The iPod touch was certainly more convenient to use, and it offered adequate resolution at 5 mega pixels.  The advantage to the iPod is that it was a breeze to upload the photos to Facebook with a click on the screen, while the Sony was more difficult, and at least my camera required a USB connection to my computer for transferring.  I did capture a few good videos with the Sony, but all my photos were taken with the iPod Touch.
