Disney's Tarzan Action Game

Disney's Tarzan Action Game is a fun adaptation of Disney's new animation adventure based on Edgar Rice Burroughs Tarzan. After recently seeing Disney's Tarzan animated movie with my kids, the action game is the next step to continue the adventure of Tarzan and Jane in the jungle. The movie so impressed me with its depth of characters, warmth and excitement plus the expected high quality animation and music in the Disney tradition, that this action game is a great way for kids and adults (ages 8 and up) to relive the movie. interact with the movie who'd like to recapture a bit of the movie in an interactive game.

With 3-D graphics and realistic jungle sounds, you'll start out as Tarzan the boy running, jumping, climbing, tree-surfing and avoiding or fighting the dangerous animals as you travel from level to level in this jungle adventure. Eventually, Tarzan the boy will grow into Tarzan the adult as you earn your way from level 1 to level 13. One option allows you to play the games as some of the other characters from the movie, like Terk, Tantor and even Jane. The graphics are definitely 3-D and impressive, with the jungle scape, music and sounds right from the movie. And you'll even find some memorable video clips that might make you long to see the movie again. It was a great movie, and it wasn't just for kids. Adults will love it too. If we don't see it a second time, we'll eventually buy the video when it comes out, we hope soon. In fact, right after leaving the theater, we headed to McDonald's where they sell sound straws based on some of the Tarzan characters. Sarah, my 7-year-old daughter (actually, she'll be 8 at the end of July) said she loved the movie, and the game is great. And speaking of the movie, with your purchase of the Tarzan Action Game (or any of the Tarzan software products) you'll find one free pass to the movie (children's admission). This is a time limited offer for participating theaters.

Disney's Tarzan Action Game CD sells for a street price of $29.99 and will run on any multimedia PC, Pentium 166 MHz or faster processor with 24 megabytes of RAM and a 4x CD-ROM drive running Windows 95 or Windows 98. Disney's Tarzan Activity Center

Okay, you've seen Disney's Tarzan, and the kids just loved it. So, what should you do if they keep on talking about the movie and maybe want to see it over and over again. You should buy your kids Disney's Tarzan Activity Center, and then take them to see the movie one more time, and that's it. With the activity center they'll find lots to do to remind them of the movie and more activities that they couldn't find in the movie like creating music, drawing and coloring the scenes, writing in your Jungle Journal and making stickers of your favorite animated characters. Other activities include Tarzan's Jungle Tumble, an arcade style game, Trash the Camp Music Maker for making music in one of the funniest scenes in the movie, Fetch-the-Sketch a concentration type memory game, Terk and Tantor's Power Lunch, a breakout game and Tarzan's Sing and Swing that let's you sing along with songs from the movie (with animated movie clips). And you'll get a real feeling that you're in the jungle with Tarzan and friends because of the very realistic sound effects as you play.

Sarah just reminded me to tell you that she loves the way the characters talk to you when you're playing the games. For example, in Terk and Tantor's Power Lunch when you finish level 1 Tantor says, "This level seems to be too easy. Let's move on." Also, at the beginning of level 3, Tantor says, "This level gives me the heebee geebees. Too many bugs." Apparently, kids love this type of interaction.

Now that my kids are out of school, they've been spending a few hours a day with the three Tarzan titles. Of course, the movie had a lot to do with their love of the software. And I agree with the kids. The CDs remind me of an enjoyable two hours in the theater with my family immersed in a another great, soon-to-be-classic, Disney animated film. And if you're undecided about purchasing from this latest list of Disney Interactive titles, don't worry. You have nothing to lose because Disney is offering a 90 day money back guarantee (U.S. and Canada only) if you're not completely satisfied.
